Thanks to either crappy sales figures, the introduction of the 16GB iPhone or the looming shadow that is the 3G iPhone (or more likely than not a combo of the lot) T-Mobile Germany is, from this Monday, offering up the 8GB iPhone at the bargain price of 99 euros - around £78 at the current exchange rate.

Keen to shift the puniest remaining member in the range asap, T-Mob's new entry level plan delivers 500MB of EDGE data and 50 minutes chat for 29 euros (£23ish) per month with the offer valid 'til June 30.

Another rumour that's bobbed to the surface of the tech barrel is that Apple will discontinue the 8GB iPhone to keep the coast clear for the 16GB and 3G models, so the prices could keep falling yet. As Shaw Taylor from classic Nineties show Police 5 would say, "keep 'em peeled".
