3 is one of the most innovative mobile phone companies in the world. But when its spokespeople said we could be enjoying our mobile movies on a 62-inch screen, it was time to question its sanity. But 3 knows what it’s doing...

The Vuzix iWear goggles are exclusively available in 3 stores this week, using pocket-sized video glasses to “make the big screen as portable as your mobile”.

Tiny high-tech displays inside the glasses create a virtual screen that’s the equivalent of watching a 62-inch plasma TV.

With built-in stereo speakers, iWear gives five hours continuous use from a single charge.

iWear can be connected to all video-out enabled handsets such as the Nokia N95, enabling consumers to watch movies and play games on a virtual massive screen.

As well as phones, Vuzix iWear connects to almost any device that is capable of playing video – such as mobiles, iPods, DVD players, games consoles and camcorders.

If you need convincing, selected 3 Stores will be offering trials of iWear, which is wise before you splash out £199.95.

The video glasses can be purchased in-store or from 3’s accessories website.

3 said that iWear has won awards at the Consumer Electronics Show for two years running, and was recently nominated as one of the most innovative products on the market at this year’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
